On 13 May 2019, OVWG attended the 12th Gaming&Betting Conference in Vienna, spoke about the progressing digitalization and presented various regulatory models in Europe. The result: “Don’t fight technology, let’s focus on how channeling could work”. Best practice examples in the EU show how channeling can succeed: Through an open licensing system, which links licensing to compliance with high player protection standards, as well as fair taxation of the industry.
